celebrating small wins
//taking the time to celebrate small wins

This past week was business as usual.
But, in the process of writing this letter, I found that I needed to check myself.
I've got ambitions and that's cool, but a lot of the time I get so focused on where I want to be that I forget to take the time to give myself credit for the daily steps I'm taking to actually get to where I want to be.
Did a workout? That's a win.
Choosing to consume something educational instead of doom scrolling? Win.
Going for a walk just cause? Win.
Typing a single line of code? Win.
Damn... waking up until now is a win you know?
I forget that a lot of the time.
And what's funny is that I made Doaily to have all these little gamification elements in it to help remind myself of this.
As you may or may not know, Doaily tries to help you celebrate small wins and wins in general by throwing you a virtual confetti every time you get something done. It also tallies up the number of tasks you've completed and provides you a list of proof for all the things you've done to remind you how badass you actually are.
But, those features too became normal and that's the limit that apps like Doaily will hit I feel.
When it comes down to it, you can have all these apps telling you and reminding you when you've won all they want. But, life won't and you'll have to decide for yourself for real FOR REAL.
Celebrate your small wins friendo and string them along until it becomes a big W that life then help decide for you.
Then, repeat :)
And with that said, I want to share some small wins recently.
//gong-worthy win

One win that I want to share is from a project I'm part of called TrailCollectiv.
It's a small app startup here in my city and we just pushed out a big feature update recently and the app itself just hit around 11,000 lifetime downloads!
//doaily wins
I also want to take the time to celebrate the App Store analytics for Doaily in the past 30 days.
It's nothing life changing yet, but its nice to see that the updates and app store search visibility work I've been putting in is paying off :)
OOOOF enough of that.
Celebrating wins in public is a whole different thing that you've got to learn to embrace and I keep finding out haha
ANYWAY...
I would also like to share a progress update for the future task planning feature in Doaily.

Doaily WIP: weekly, monthly, and yearly views
Since last week, I've managed to add a year view now as well.
What I would love to hear opinions on is whether to allow the following abilities in these new month and year views:
- for tasks: the ability to add subtasks, reminders, and notes
- for journal prompts: add an entry
- for habits: set reminder for the day
Right now, I just have the tasks and habits swipable for marking them done or deleting them. Then, tapping on them in these new views will bring you to the today list view (the current todo view in Doaily) to allow you to do all the things I've just mentioned above.
Does that make sense? I hope so as I would love to hear some opinions on this.
Anyway, those were my wins for the week!
I bet you've had wins lately too and I hope you give yourself the space to acknowledge them too.
